Subject: [dita-users] Contradiction in DITA spec for <msgblock> and <msgph> ?

Hi, all...

Can anyone please clarify the meanings and usages of the <msgblock> and <msgph> elements? Maybe some examples?

The descriptions of the <msgblock> element in the DITA 1.1 and 1.2 specs imply that a <msgph> can be a child of <msgblock>, but that does not appear to be the case. The description of <msgph> does not include the <msgblock> in its CONTAINED BY section. This seems to be a contradiction.

The confusing description for <msgblock> from the spec is:

"The message block (<msgblock>) element contains a multi-line message or set of messages. The message block can contain multiple message numbers and message descriptions, each enclosed in a <msgnum> and <msgph> element."

Thanks

Steve
