Hi Kristen,

Thanks again for the opportunity to work at the intersection of OASIS DITA and W3C ITS.

As promised, here’s are links to material that we used in today’s conversation:

  1. Intro to W3C ITS (includes info on relationship to XLIFF, and use of ITS in tools/frameworks)

Most relevant are pages: 21 – 23, 40 – 42, 52 – 54 and 63

  1. The Best Practices document that explains what XML Application Designers (DTD writers etc.) may want to consider, and an example of to how to use DITA and ITS

  1. Usages Scenarios for Processes based on ITS 2.0 Data Categories

  1. Data Category that allows content to be either extracted as in-line codes or as sub-flows (independent translation units)

  1. Data Category that allows content to be marked as “term” (and to be associated with additional information)

This is exciting. Thanks so much for reaching out. As indicated: Me (and I guess Felix as well) are interested in providing additional help. Let us know how to best do this.

Cheers,
Christian
