13121: Reuse of structural specialization fragments (Priestley)

MP gave an overview; this will allow for reusing structural specializations. - It's not like domain reuse, but it follows the model for reusing domains in a specific point; there's a dependency on the reused specialization. Method for using the feature is to insert a refrence to the module to be reused in the document shell, but don't reference the entity file.
- 'The theory is simple, but all the models needed to be documented, so the proposal is big.'
- It introduces a change relative to generalization, a validation step to make sure generalization can go to whatever common ancestor exists. It's a place where what we have is currently underdocumented, and this has a bunch of wrinkles. 'Nothing needs to change that didn't need to change at 1.2; there were a number of places where the documentation didn't get updated to thoroughly describe 1.2 new functionality, and for this feature, that has to be fixed.'
- The proposal includes a number of suggestions on how to edit/correct areas of the spec that got modified in process of doing this proposal.
- In response to a question on specific use cases, Michael noted that the proposal directly addresses the troubleshooting model being developd by the TechComm SC. It also addresses issues in Lightweight DITA, even though that won't be part of 1.3, by allowing for lighter weight specializations.
- Don; wrt the use of conditional processing; if one of the sections get used somewhere that a child is required and it gets conditioned out, what happens?
e.g. if an in which you put a steps, and the steps got conditioned out...
- MichaelP; if I include that is really including a specialized container module ; it doesn't span the whole content of steps across the domain.
- Bob Thomas; This relly made a better troubleshooting model possible.
- MichaelP; good to know it will be used.

Robert gave an overview; Jarno's question brings up the fact that for attribute processing wrt conrefs, attributes with the "-dita-use-conref-target" are treated as an exception case. He wantted to know if that rule applies wrt keydef/keyref attributes as well.<br />
Jim Tivy suggested that it would be useful to have an example to evaluate.<br />
