Subject: Review #2 comments: Combining metadata from a key reference element and a key-defining element

DITAweb URL:
https://ditaweb.com/oasis-dita/#/00074601-DA$00074542-DB$Processing%20key%20references%20on%20%3Ctopicref%3E%20elements

Text in question:
"Content from a key reference element and a key-defining element is combined following the rules for combining metadata between maps and other maps and between maps and topics. The @lockmeta attribute is honored when metadata content is combined."

Comments
  • [Jarno Elovirta] If combining metadata between maps and other maps, and between maps and topics conflict, which one takes priority?
  • [Eliot Kimber] I would expect the rule to be that general metadata cascade takes precendence, that is, metadata cascade within maps is done before doing any keyref-to-keyref metadata merging.
