DOCBOOK-APPS: Speaking of "osx"...

...(or sx)...  When I use it to convert sgml Docbook to xml docbook,
it is necessary to use the 'lower' option to map the objects that the
SGML declaration raises to upper case down into lower-case, to map the
XML DTD.  This is all well and good in most places, but this changes
attthe "format" attribute for <imagedata> from (for example) "PNG"
(which is what the DTD requires) to "png" (which it doesn't like).

What is the "right" way to alleviate this problem?
