Subject: DOCBOOK-APPS: FYI - another example of DocBook XML Slides online
FYI, I'm giving a presentation tomorrow at the Ottawa Linux Symposium (http://www.linuxsymposium.org/ ) where all my slides were generated using DocBook XML and Norm's Slides 2.0a doctype. If you want to see the presentation and the XML code, you can view the preso at: http://www.lodestar2.com/people/dyork/talks/2001/ols/ and the DocBook XML at: http://www.lodestar2.com/people/dyork/talks/2001/ols/maximizing-cvs.xml As you will see, the presentation is about "maximizing your use of CVS" (for newbies, that is the CVS used for version control - http://www.cvshome.org/ ) I personally like the frames view: http://www.lodestar2.com/people/dyork/talks/2001/ols/frames/frames.html You'll note that I went into frames.xsl and set two parameters to "1": ns4 (since I use Netscape 4) multiframe "multiframe" is what gives you the nice border on the top and bottom of all the slides (after the first slide) as you go through the preso. Setting "ns4" was supposed to, I thought, give me a navbar that has sections that collapse, but it doesn't work. I also modified "slides.css" to use the fonts that I wanted and give me the orange borders. Anyway, it is out there for anyone interested in learning more. Comments/feedback/suggestions are welcome. (Including comments about the CVS preso :-) Regards, Dan -- Dan York, Director of Training dyork@e-smith.com Ph: +1-613-751-4401 Mobile: +1-613-263-4312 Fax: +1-613-564-7739 e-smith, inc. 150 Metcalfe St., Suite 1500, Ottawa,ON K2P 1P1 Canada http://www.e-smith.com/ open source, open mind
