DOCBOOK-APPS: double sided layout

Hi,

I want to generate a PDF document where the margin
depends on the page number, so on pages with even numbers
the margin on the left side should be large, on pages with uneven
numbers the margin on the right side should be large.
I saw the parameter 'double.sided' and set it to 1 (maybe this is
the basic thing I need?), but the result is that when fop reaches a
chapter containing more than 1 pages I get [ERROR] null

Has anybody tried the same thing and had success?
