The other factor that comes into the equation - do you want to customise 
the print output stylesheets? If so, you will have to become familiar with 
either XSL or DSSL.

If you understand XML then XSL customisation is relatively straight 
forward, with plenty of help available via this list; if you know Lisp then 
the DSSL stylesheets will make sense, otherwise be prepared for a steep 
learning experience, with less people being able to offer help.
