Newbie: docbook slides-demo-3.1.0

Hi,

Sorry, this is a real newbie question. I've struggled with this for a 
while.  I'm (unsucessfully) trying to execute the examples in the 
"slides-demo".  Here is what I've done:

Downloaded and unpacked saxon, docbook-xsl-1.62.4, slides-3.2.0, and 
slides-demo-3.1.0.

Attempted to execute the "plain.xsl" using the following command:

c:\jdk1.3.1_08\bin\java -cp d:\pathto\saxon.jar 
    com.icl.saxon.StyleSheet 
    D:\slides-demo-3.1.0\demo\source\slides.xml     
    D:\slides-3.2.0\xsl\xhtml\plain.xsl

I get a slew of errors some of which I'll list at the bottom of the 
email.  Can anyone give me advice on how to run these simple examples?
