Subject: Announce: snapshot builds
The DocBook project now has an automated system for generating pre-release snapshots of its project (stylesheet) distributions: http://docbook.sourceforge.net/snapshots/ The way it works is: Every time a change is checked into the source in the project CVS repository for a particular module (xsl, dsssl, slides), a new build is automatically started. So if a developer from the team posts a message to the list saying that something has been fixed in CVS, you can immediately go to the location above to download a snapshot including the fix. So please download and use the snapshots to help the team test out changes. Or use them if you're interested in getting your hands on new features and fixes as quickly as possible. Note that the XSL stylesheets snapshot contains an INSTALL file to automatically adjust your XML catalog setup to use the snapshot version of the stylesheets instead of whatever stable version you may have installed. To use that INSTALL file; do this: ./INSTALL or sh INSTALL That creates a catalog.xml file and gives some instructions for using it (setting the XML_CATALOG_FILES and/or adjusting your CatalogManager.properties file). If you run into a problem, just remove that catalog.xml file and your system will revert to using whatever stable version of the stylesheets you have installed. Also, remember that iff you want to get automatically notified of checkins so that you'll know when a new snapshot is available, subscribe to the docbook-checkins mailing list - http://sources.redhat.com/ml/docbook-apps/2004-q4/msg00199.html
