Subject: Re: [docbook-apps] About callout icons

Hi Jacques,

I had a similar idea for callouts on screenshot images.

Following is an example of what is working fine in my case.

Regards,
Alexander

The SVG file embeds a PNG image. Note that the SVG-tag has "mm" size
attributes additionally to the viewbox attribute. The viewbox is a bit
wider than the PNG because the callouts placed at the margin and an
according polyline points from the callout to the desired area inside the
screenshot.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE svg PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD SVG 1.0//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-SVG-20010904/DTD/svg10.dtd";>
<svg width="103mm" height="110mm" viewBox="0 0 385 411">
  <g style="stroke:rgb(0,0,0);fill:rgb(255,255,255)">
<image x="0" y="0" width="360" height="411"
xlink:href="../../images/editor-detail-formular.png"/>
  </g>

  <g transform="translate(368,8)"
style="font-family:serif;font-size:13;font-weight:bold">
   <circle cx="7" cy="7" r="7"
style="stroke:rgb(0,0,0);fill:black;stroke-width:1" />
   <g style="stroke:none;fill:white">
    <text text-anchor="middle" x="7" y="11">1</text>
   </g>
  </g>
  <g style="stroke:rgb(0,0,0);fill:none">
    <polyline points="252,15 368,15" style="fill:none"/>
  </g>

....

</svg>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within my docbook file I've embedded this graphic as follows (SVG is taken
for PDF generation and PNG for HTML files):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
....
       <figure>
         <title>Formular</title>
         <mediaobject>
           <imageobject>
             <imagedata align="center"
             fileref="../resources/svg/screenshots/editor-detail-formular.svg"
             format="SVG" />
           </imageobject>
           <imageobject>
             <imagedata align="center"
             fileref="../resources/png/screenshots/editor-detail-formular.png"
             format="PNG" />
           </imageobject>
           <textobject>
             <para>Formular bearbeiten</para>
           </textobject>
         </mediaobject>
       </figure>
....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
