If only. Sadly -- I have NO 'jvmsetup' anywhere at all on my system. Not nohow. However -- I DO have an <ooo>/program/setup, which, when I run it, gives me a helpful-looking dialogue box offering two choices: a) Repair OpenOffice b) Re-install OpenOffice. Oh, and there IS a third option: 'Modify your current installation' -- BUT -- it's greyed out, and so can't be used. :( OK -- thanks for all the help; but I've now blown the whole lot away, and am re-starting from scratch.
