<col align="left" valign="top"> should work in all browsers. What browser are you using. It does work in IE6, but it doesn't in Windows Firefox, which displays with valign="middle". That's got to be a bug in Firefox, no? There is a CSS for valign: td { vertical-align: top; } And that does work in Firefox.
