Subject: Re: [docbook-apps] abstract formatting. HTML output

Hi Dave,
In the DocBook stylesheets, the titlepage mechanism is a generalization of
the book titlepage, and it is used for all elements in the document
hierarchy. The titlepage spec file lets you create titlepages for chapters,
appendices, sections, etc. In fact, the sectioninfo/abstract *is* titlepage
content, but for a section titlepage. In the default stylesheet, the
"titlepage" for most elements doesn't generate a separate page, but the
mechanism is general enough to allow to do so if you want. But the
stylesheets do process the info stuff by default.

The reason your templates didn't work is because all the titlepage stuff is
processed in mode="titlepage.mode" so that they aren't processed in the
default mode, but are handled by the titlepage mechanism. I think if you
added that mode to your templates, then your overrides would win.
