Subject: ANN: RefDB-0.9.6, refdb-mode
Hi, I'm pleased to announce that a new release of the RefDB reference manager and bibliography tool is available: http://refdb.sourceforge.net/download.html DocBook SGML and XML as well as TEI XML documents are fully supported. RefDB offers a Makefile-based document handling which makes creating a PDF version of your publication with formatted citations and bibliographies as simple as typing "make pdf". RefDB is released under the GPL and runs on a variety of Unix-like platforms as well as on Windows/Cygwin. Updated Debian and Cygwin binary packages as well as a FreeBSD port will be available shortly. In addition I'd like to announce the first release of a package containing two Emacs modes that turn this editor into an integrated authoring tool for markup languages with reference and notes management as well as bibliography support: http://refdb.sourceforge.net/emacs.html refdb-mode is a minor mode which implements a frontend for all RefDB client commands. It plays well with PSGML and nxml-mode for editing SGML and XML documents, respectively. You can add and edit references and notes, query the database, and insert your query results as citation elements into your DocBook or TEI documents. You can create new documents, transform them to HTML or printable output including the automatically generated bibliographies, and view the resulting documents with just a mouseclick. To see refdb-mode in action, please view two Flash demos which show reference management and bibliography creation, respectively: http://refdb.sourceforge.net/emacs.html#refdbmode-demo ris-mode is a major mode which simplifies editing RIS datasets, one of the two data formats accepted natively by RefDB. The Emacs modes are also released under the GPL. regards, Markus -- Markus Hoenicka markus.hoenicka@cats.de (Spam-protected email: replace the quadrupeds with "mhoenicka") http://www.mhoenicka.de
