Hi,
The example you provided was for English, but you didn't provide an example 
of what you tried for Italian.

When I set lang="it" on the root element of a document and process it with 
the stock stylesheets, my appendix output has Appendice A. Title.  If you 
are getting just A. Title then there must be some other customization being 
used.  In my output, only the Table of Contents shows A. Title.
