Subject: Re: [docbook-apps] Query: bug in <citation>#PCDATA</citation>

It is very common to have citation marked by abbreviation composed from author name and year of publication, like [Kosek2005] or [Ko05]. It is easier to assign such identifier to biblioentry using <abbrev> element and then reference it using <citation> then using other ways. Of couse you can manage parallel real IDs which are assigned using <biblioentry id="..."/> and then referenced using biblioref or xref. But having two identifiers is silly and hard to maintain, and using abbreviations like Kosek2005 for IDs of biblioentries is not always good. In large documents it is quite usual to have some naming policy for IDs, like tables are prefixed by tab., chapters by ch. and biblioentries by bib and simple bibliography abbreviation doesn't fit into this schema. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Jirka Kosek e-mail: jirka@kosek.cz http://www.kosek.cz ------------------------------------------------------------------ Profesionální školení a poradenství v oblasti technologií XML.
