Subject: RE: [docbook-apps] generating a LOT in DocBook 5

Yes. The lot element was a specialized Table of Contents and was
dropped with the intention of using an attribute on the toc element to
express the type of contents to be listed. The role attribute on an lot
was used by some systems to specify the specific type of list of titles
to generate and would work well serving the same function on the toc
element. You could also introduce a class attribute if you wanted to
provide a clearer expression of intent.

Subject: [docbook-apps] generating a LOT in DocBook 5

The lot element does not appear in DocBook 5. How are lists of tables
expected to be generated? Are we supposed to use the toc element with an

attribute? (assuming I need to generate a TOC, an LOF and an LOT?)

Best regards,
