Hi, I think you are seeing what is called the "verso" titlepage for a book. See this reference for more information: http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/HTMLTitlePage.html You can turn it off by specifying an empty version of <t:titlepage-content t:side="verso">in the title page spec file, as is shown on the example for article on that page.
