Hi Sascha,
I suspect you meant horizontal lines, not vertical.  The header and footer lines are controlled by two stylesheet params: header.rule and footer.rule.  Set those params to zero to turn off the lines.

http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/current/doc/fo/header.rule.html

More detail on customizing the headers and footer are in this section of my book:

http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/PrintHeaders.html#ChangeHeaderStyles

Hello List,

actually it looks like after processing DocBook to PDF the result has on
the top and on the bottom a vertical line.
Does anyone knows where these lines are coming from? I would like to
doesn't use it on the titlepage. I read
http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/HTMLTitlePage.html but there i
haven't found anything about them.

greetings Sascha
