Subject: Is DocBook Publishers DocBook
Hi all Not really facetious but I wondered... The DocBook Publishers Schema is not the same as DocBook. However, we use the same namespace and version number. The difference between the two is the schema one validates against. Now, Norm's statement from November on the TC mailing lists applies to local modifications and the fact that they aren't DocBook. 'Traditionally' a schema/DTD wasn't DocBook if it wasn't a strict subset or identical to DocBook itself. So, what is the official status of something like the Publishers Schema? It isn't DocBook because it has new elements but it is because it has the same namespace and version. That doesn't seem quite right. Wondered what the official view is. nic -- Nic Gibson Corbas Consulting Digital Publishing Consultancy and Training http://www.corbas.co.uk, +44 (0)7718 906817
