Subject: [Bob Stayton <bobs@caldera.com>] DOCBOOK-APPS: proposal to extend Olink
Folks, I think there's a lot of merit to this proposal. I'm going to put this on the agenda for next week, so I strongly encourage everyone to read Bob's paper.

Did you ever find a need to form cross references between DocBook documents? I've written a white paper that proposes a scheme for extending the DocBook Olink element to better support cross references between documents. You can read "Proposal for implementing olink" at http://www.sagehill.net/OlinkExtended.html. It's fairly long because it has quite a bit of detail, but there is an Executive Summary if you want the short version. I'm about to embark on implementing a prototype, so any comments would be appreciated. bobs Bob Stayton 400 Encinal Street Publications Architect Santa Cruz, CA 95060 Technical Publications voice: (831) 427-7796 Caldera International, Inc. fax: (831) 429-1887 email: bobs@caldera.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe or unsubscribe from this elist use the subscription manager: <http://lists.oasis-open.org/ob/adm.pl>
