There were some recent changes in XInclude 1.1 draft which have cosmetic impact on the current transclusion proposal. 1. Overriding of xml:id on transcluded content will be done with set-xml-id attribute defined in XInclude 1.1 instead of previously proposed db:id 2. Recently XML Core WG received more comments and as a result XInclude 1.1 could add ability to override local attributes. We can use this in translusions for overriding for example effectivity (profiling) attributes. Instead of being specifying them in DocBook namespace on xi:include element they will reside in special XInclude 1.1 defined namespace -- but this is still open/under discussion issues. 3. We can consider special namespace (or no namespace) for db:idfixup, db:prefix and db:linkscope attributes as transclusions makes sense in other vocabularies then DocBook. But all those are just minor syntactic details.
