DOCBOOK: content management

Hello,

I am writing an XML based content management system, and am wondering if
DocBook is an appropriate XML format to store the content items in.

As far as I can see, each piece of content behaves much like an article,
with authors etc.  The articles can be sectioned, and multimedia content can
be included via the mediaobject tag.

I was wondering if anyone had any views on this, and possibly know of
something more appropriate.
