Subject: DOCBOOK: questions
I have some questions related to SGML. I have tried other lists and none was good. I hope I find the answers here. The first is related to the use of LPD (Link Process Definition): does it make any sense to use it now that DSSSL exists? I find they are used much for the same thing, but DSSSL solves it better. Couldn't it be like the Datatag and Shortref, which are two ways of solving the same, being Shortref better than datatag?? The second is related to DSSSL and HyTime, concretely with property sets: while reading some tutorials I perceive that property sets and grove plans could be used to define views of documents. Now the question is, can property sets be defined for a concrete DTD? As long as I know, property sets are related to notation processors, and while SGML is a notation, and thus it has his own propset, a DTD is not a notation (or is it?), and it shouldn't be possible to declare a propset for a DTD. Then, how could I define views of my own document type? Because declaring a grove plan in DSSSL allows only to select modules of the SGML propset., but not in some other propset as long as I know. I don't know if there is some list more adequate for this kind of questions. If so, I would thank anyonw who can point me there. Javi
