Subject: DOCBOOK: installing docbook
Sorry for these questions, but I'm trying to learn docbook and downloaded the following. -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 94441 Aug 20 22:57 docbook-3.1-5.noarch.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 3739675 Aug 20 22:56 jade-1.2.1-4.i386.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 1217844 Aug 20 22:57 jadetex-2.5-0.noarch.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 1181042 Aug 20 22:57 jadetex-2.7-0.noarch.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 280447 Aug 20 22:57 psgml-1.0.3-2.noarch.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 208314 Aug 20 22:57 psgml-1.2.1-1.noarch.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 18749 Aug 20 22:58 sgml-common-0.1-3.noarch.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 build build 320687 Aug 20 22:58 stylesheets-0.10-2.noarch.rpm I got them from the url below, but noticed that when I rpm'd them, I had later versions of serveral of these so I kept my later ones (installed w/ RH 7.x). And I didn't install jade because I had openjade. $ ncftp ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com ncftp> cd pub/docbook-tools/docware/RPMS ncftp> mget i386/*.rpm ncftp> mget noarch/*.rpm ncftp> quit So I tried my first docbook according to this pages tutorial and did not see the docbook2html cmd as found at this url. http://www.caldera.de/~eric/crash-course/HTML/hello-world.html All in all, I'm pretty clueless as to what I'm doing here so could someone give me an idea what needs to be done? I was expecting to create *.docbook files and run them through something that would spit out some html pages for me. Any help much appreciated.
