Problem using Q and A Sets

I am using the QandAset and for some reason I'm getting a line return
between the Q. and the question, and then between the A. and the answer.
I have done some customizing of some of the XSL (not the qandaset xsl),
but haven't a clue what I may have changed to affect this. Does anyone
have any suggestions as to where to look? Here's the format I get back:

Q.
   Question
A.
   Answer

but I was hoping it would be:
Q. Question
A. Answer
