Subject: Generation date for The Definitive Guide

Hello,

I'm posting to request that the The Definitive Guide online HTML pages
include a generation date alongside the copyright statement at the
bottom of each page.

There is already the very useful CVS information on many pages and
especially for each DocBook element, but that is not enough to have a
precise idea on how the consulted page is up-to-date:
>
> $Revision: 1.3 $
>
> $Date: 2002/06/12 11:17:59 $
>

The copyright information is also out of date since it doesn't include
the 2004 year. A 1999-2004 display would also be better:
>
> Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 O'Reilly & Associates, Inc. All
> rights reserved.

The reason behind this request is that I have had clients reading and
using very old revisions of the "DocBook: The Definitive Guide" and not
knowing that they were working on old material and deprecated tags.

I am also always a bit wondering when I read
http://www.docbook.org/tdg/en/html/ how up-to-date it is, even if there
is a "Updated: Wed, 19 May 2004" on the front page. Having this
information at the bottom of each page would be more user-friendly.

Thanks,
