The schema settings seem correct for nXml.. If I ask for tag completions
after say "<book"  .. It gives be "book" and "bookinfo" which is correct..
But the first element in the file is always thrown as an "Unknown element"
message no matter what the element is..

No. It works for me. Are you sure you have the right schema associated
with the buffer?
