Ah ha! Thanks, removing the "label" did the trick in terms of removing the message. I am glad I asked :) Interestingly, though the link is generated and can be followed to the document, the anchor in the target document does not seem to be ... I will have to look into whether the xml:id of the <glossentry/> is being used or not (since this mechanism works fine to link to other things like <table/> and <section/>. That's used to generate the displayed number of an element, but glossary entries are not numbered, so the stylesheets do not have templates in the gentext system for it.
