Hi - The Directory Interoperability Forum (DIF) is holding next year's first LDAP and DSML interoperability PLUGFEST for directories and directory-enabled applications in Burlingame, CA (near San Francisco airport) January 29-31, 2003. DIRECTORY VENDORS should attend this PLUGFEST because they will be able to test interoperability of their directories and any new features - especially support for DSML, with other leading directories. DIRECTORY-ENABLED APPLICATION VENDORS can use this PLUGFEST to certify that their applications are "LDAP Ready", an Open Group Certification that assures customers that the applications are guaranteed interoperabile with LDAP Certified directory products. WHAT IS A PLUGFEST? PLUGFESTS are events where multiple vendors meet and test product interoperability in real life. These events are the most effective way to test product interoperability, because they are tested against products they will meet in customer IT infrastructures. You can participate in this PLUGFEST either by bringing your products to Burlingame, or for the first time - remotely, via the Internet. Coming to Burlingame has the advantage that you will be able to discuss and solve any conflicts with other implementers on the spot. But facilities there are limited. To be sure of your place, please register your interest by Thursday, November 30, 2002 by contacting c.harding@opengroup.org. When you register, we will provide details regarding travel, accommodations, agenda and setup. PLUGFEST COST The attendance fee for a DIF member company is $1,000. This covers up to 3 attendees and you may test as many products as you wish. The attendance fee includes a complimentary pass (worth $295) to the conference of The Open Group the following week (February 3-7, also in San Francisco, see http://www.opengroup.org/sfo2003/) and the concurrent meetings of the DIF that week. Remote participation (by web and 'phone) will be at $250 per company (your Internet connection and 'phone charges are not included.) I encourage you to attend these popular and valuable events. I look forward to hearing from you! Regards, Chris +++++ ======================================================================== Dr. Christopher J.
