Subject: Other DSML issues
On the phone call today, Winston asked if there were any other outstanding issues that need to be considered. It might be good to look at the dsml-comments list. There is an issue raised there (http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/dsml-comment/200212/msg00000.html). Basically, AttributeDescriptionValue is used in the return attributes of a search, but the restriction is too restrictive for that type. It needs to allow "*", "+", and other future special characters. Diluting the restriction in AttributeDescriptionValue, kind of weakens the use of a restriction where it is used elsewhere. Seems like DSML either needs two similar types, or just make SearchRequest.attributes be an unrestricted string. Jim
