Hi colleagues,
see below the response from the IDTrust chair.
Are we able to detail our proposal by tomorrow?
Greetings,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
I will share the email with the other steering committee members.
Generally all these activities fall within the overall spending
plan approved by OASIS for the IDTrust MS. We will need details
and cost estimates to approve specific requests (e.g. travel
expenses for a speaker at conference "xâ).
The MS budget has been used rarely to support a âscholarshipâ for
a particular member who will make a major contribution to the TC.
So that item would be limited and require strong justification.
Regarding the other projects, we need more details about the
activities, how they support the TC charter and current
objectives. For example, what conference(s)/events are important
for committee members to present your work, etc. What is needed to
support the conformance testbed and ASN.1 project (e.g., cloud
hosting services?, duration, cost etc.).
The Steering Committee is scheduled to meet via teleconference on
Tuesday May 14 at 1PM - 2PM EDT. Can you be available to join the
meeting and talk about the new work the TC is undertaking and the
areas where you need support? The committee meets monthly, so the
June meeting is another option if you would like more time or
unavailable this coming week.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
John

Hi Dee,
my TC colleagues would like to know about the view of IDTrust's
view of
our proposals?
Ar these topic in the scope of IDTrust? Are there other
activities in
the mentioned areas we can take advantage of?

Andreas
Hi Dee,
no, don't worry. Due to my outbox I never sent my answer :-(
In DSS-X we did a complete makeover of our 10 year old
specification so
there is a lot of work to do. On our list of planned
activities there
are a few with a need for funding:
- creation of a DSS-X 2.0 conformance test bed
- support for our single semantic / multi syntax approach to
support
ASN.1 (in addition to XML and JSON)
- sponsoring of member fees for new participants
- subsidy of PR activities (e.g. sponsoring of events, travel
expenses)
I hope this gives an idea of our ideas!
Greetings,
Andreas
Hi Andreas,
Please send me more details to present to the Steering
Committee -- did I
miss an email from you?

Andreas,
It is certainly not to late for the Steering Committee to
consider your
request for support. What do you have in mind?
Best,
Dee

Hi Dee,
thank you for your always appreciated funding offer. Being
busy to get our
recent core document ready for standardization it took a
while to respond to
your mail. The DSS-X TC has some ideas regarding possible
funding. But first
of all I would like to know whether the funding option is
still available?
Or did we miss a good opportunity?
Greetings,
Andreas
IDtrust affiliated TC Chairs,
The IDtrust Member Section (MS) Steering Committee (StC)
has prepared a proposed budget for 2019 and has set aside
funding for affiliated technical committees. With that, we
are reaching out to all affiliated technical committees
for 2019 funding requests. A primary mission of the Member
Section is to support and promote the work of the
affiliated TCs.
Please take this opportunity to reflect on possible
requests for your TC that will catalyze the work of the
group. In the past, the MS has provided funding for
conference sponsorship where TC members present on behalf
of the TC, partial funding to offset TC F2F meetings and
Interop demo expenses, etc. I invite you to send your
requests in the next few weeks with as much detail as
possible. That said, requests may be made at any point
during the year.
We encourage chairs and any TC member to join the StC
monthly meeting to share a TC progress report with the
StC. The StC meets on the second Tuesday of every month at
2PM ET - I am happy to send along an
invite.
We are seeking your input and guidance regarding 2019
events. Which events are appropriate venues to present the
work of your TC? Would your TC be interested in an
interop, plugfest, webinar, etc.? We invite your
participation as we target events that will highlight the
work of your technical committee and the work of the
member section as a
whole.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Dee
