Regarding output delivery in 3.5.3, thank you for your explanation. Is this a correct understanding (if so we might add this to the document):

An application workflow might require multiple signatures on a document set. This may require conveying multiple documents and associated signatures between parties. Although important this is out of scope of the DSS work since the DSS server simply returns a signature and does not directly participate in an application workflow, leaving it to an application how to represent and manage document collections.

The signing server may support the range of XML signatures, including detached, enveloped and enveloping, and thus may return one document in conjunction with a signature.

In other words, the signature server is not an intermediary :)
