schema redefinition question

Hi Experts,

I have a little trouble working with derived schemas. Til date I always 
avoid to do this, but the async profile requires the <SignRequest> to 
the RequestID attribute given.

My questions are :
Should the <SignRequest> be redefined in the original namespace ?
Should the <SignRequest> be redefined within the async namespace ( 
assuming this is possible at all )?
Should the <SignRequest> be extended to a <AsyncSignRequest> in the 
original namespace ?
Or should we leave redefinition at all and check the validity at 
procesing time ?
