DSS Teleconference Minutes Minutes: Glenn Benson Date: Monday, 21 March 2005 Time: 12:00pm - 01:00pm ET Voting Members in Attendance: Hal Lockhart, BEA Systems Pieter Kasselman, Betrusted Krishna Yellepeddy, IBM Andreas Kuehne, Individual Trevor Perrin, Individual Nick Pope, Individual Glenn Benson, J.P. Roll Call See above 4. Approval of agenda Approved 5. Approval of minutes of 28th Feb 05 Approved per modifications by Nick Pope (corrected date and clarified actions). 6. Outstanding Actions See below 7. Upcoming Profiles - Signature gateway profile (Glenn) Proposed changes to profile: o single document with one abstract and two concrete identifiers: o Identifier should only reference the major version number o Additional concrete profiles may be made by either extending current document, or adding new documents Status of proposal: Agreement by voting members Action 05-03-21-1 : Glenn update Signature gateway profile to includes changes. Potential profile on nested time-stamps (Dimitri) The meeting agreed that optional elements for nested timestamps could be added as an option within the DSS Timestampign profile taking into account comments agreed at the previous meeting. Action 05-03-21-2: Dimitry update optional nested timestamps extension to time-stamping profile (revision to action 05-02-28-03) - Reports regarding any progress on other profiles Nick mentioned ongoing discussion in the legal XML group Concerning the possibility of including DSS signature services in their court filing protocols currently being developed. 8. Interoperability testing Ed presented the ongoing results of interopability testing. This is to include exchange of XML and CMS based signatures. Also, tests are to be carried out between DSS Client & Server Implementations using email to transport HTTP requests / responses. It was agreed that this was reasonable means of exercising interopability without having to overcome communications problems. Some errors were found in the core as result of the interopability testing. It was requested that this be posted to the list for discussion. Action 05-03-21-3: Juan Carlos submit to DSS list errors found in carrying out interoperability testing 9. Date of Next meeting. Proposal for 4th April, 2005. Agreed 10. Any other business 10.1 Public Comments A further comment had been submitted by Antonio covering: - specification of enveloping and the possible need for an new schema element (ObjectId?). - IPR issues In addition two comments were submtted by Konrad Lanz. The chair requested firstly that the Editor of the Core TC consider technical comments on the DSS Core: Action 05-03-21-4: Trevor / All review public comments on DSS core by Konrad Lanz [Konrad.Lanz@labs.cio.gv.at] and technmical comment by Antonio [arm@dif.um.es] both on Mon 21/03/2005. Action 05-03-21-5: All: Consider IPR issue raised in public comment by Antonio on Mon 21/03/2005. 10.2 IPR Issue Ed asked about the status of the request by UPU to remove the IPR statement made last year. Action 05-03-21-6: Nick inquire with OASIS status of request from UPU to remove IPR statement. 10.3 Handling of comments on CDs The chair suggested that as a number of comments were being made on the DSS core and profiles, both as a result of the Interop and public comments, and that a system will be needed to track the resolution of these comments and their incorporation in revisions to the CD specifications. Specific proposals will be made by the chairs to the group at the next meeting. Action 05-03-21-7: Nick & Juan Carlos consider how the resolution of comments on CD specs can be tracked. 11. Close Outstanding Actions ACTION - 05-10-03 (should be 05-01-10-03) [Juan Carlos, Ed] Discuss in more detained plans on the list and start generating an inter-op and testing document that records what is intended to be done, specify any meta data agreed, recoded decisions; parameters used, test vectors, etc. [Also, see 05-03-21-3 for a related action item]. on going ACTION - 05-02-07-01 [Trevor] Add section on upcoming Profiles to Roadmap Document. on going ACTION - 05-02-07-02 [All Profile Editors] Read Roadmap Document and provide comments. ACTION - 05-02-07-03 [Glenn] Submit Signature Gateway Profile document with abstract and concrete profiles. See above: Action closed, but new action assigned ACTION - 05-02-28-01 - Juan Carlos to post URL to list for information on XKI On going ACTION - 05-02-28-03 - Dimitri to post text to the list on extended time-stamping, TC to review contribution, before next call.
