Duane,

I believe this dog does not hunt.

First - the whole topic of SOA is too vast an ocean to attempt to boil -
especially
in only 18 months.

Second - the whole original point was to start from the basis of ebXML
architecture
and to leverage that five years worth of work, of which you were an integral
part.

Third - the ebXML architecture is really coming into focus beautifully now
with
the work on BPSS V2, context, CPA V3, CAM, noun semantics, Federated
Registry,
harmonizing web service methods with ebXML, BPMN and more - so this is the
perfect
opportunity to provide rapid progress in a six month time frame - Q1 - Q2
2005 that is
a golden opportunity not to be missed.

Fourth - if you really really really want to go off and pursue the ocean of
SOA - I would
respectfully suggest that is a new TC effort entirely - and one which you
are obviously
free to start in addition to the ebSOA TC as the OASIS process allows.

However - I believe the constituency here wishes to complete the work on
ebSOA first
before launching out into another ocean.

The latest BPSS V2 specification is a diamond and we can do much to support
the
watershed achievement and show the world how to take advantage of these
powerful
tools for creating ebSOA systems.
