1- OASIS symposium follow-up 
-Karl> OASIS will start soon a promotional push for Web Services, which should be understood
as promoting SOA technologies that include both WS and ebXML. Will promote ebSOA. 
- Karl>COnvergence between ebXML and WS has been a clear requirement from users at
the symposium.
- CPPA should play an important role here: there is no equivalent today. Rechartering it
should take this into account. Dale> CPA convergence needs be defined.

2- Marketing ebXML: update

- Marketing TC is feasible today within current OASIS process: 
same way of operating as a regular TC. Only, the type of deliverable will be different.
- Member Section should come after this, once the marketing mission is defined
precisely enough, and resources identified. It needs more planning.
Need to have a feel of who will participate. The marketing TC would be the operational body.
- Most difficult is to find the right staffing for marketing. Jamie> experience shows
that there is a need for a "champion", who provides motivation and leadership.
- staffing may be both tech and marcom, motivation is most important. Problem is that
tech people are usually used up for tech activities (e.g. in UDDI, notmuch bandwidth left to marcom).
- member companies still expected to provide resources in kind.
- example of WS-I: a marketting com is leveraging/coordinating member resources,
but also using marketing/PR budget (e.g. for hiring consultants). This model works.
- we'll draft and post an inquiry for interest in the TC to ebxml-dev. 
(just float the proposal, no committemnt needed. But wait after CEFACT meeting next week)
- Kathryn> Boeing company can't commit any internal marketing resources.

3- ebXML TC Coordination 

- ebSOA TC needs to formally request JC membership (not enough to just invite Duane/Matt)
- Alignment needed across TCs for 3.0, and a part of it needs be handled by TCs themselves:
fine-grained level that ebSOA will likely not address, is part of the process for 3.0.
- Dale> BPSS and CPA had a joint meeting at f-2-f, CPA 2.1 maintenance rlease, but CPA 3.0
will use extension framework. CPPA will be rechartered after 2.1, to accommodate better
alignment with other TCs.
- questions such as: will a same CPA doc contain 2.0 and 3.0 material? 2.1 will be able to,
using substitution groups.
