Yes - so does mine now I checked.  Weird - too much eyeballing at XSD syntax; my eyes must have crossed there...

 

I believe the results status stuff though could be helpful for people?  Also retaining an event log through the polling process.

Another item of possible remediation.

 

In looking at the EML 110 - I notice it does not include EMLcore - but it does have locally defined items that repeat the definitions in EMLcore.  Obviously this is sub-optimal from the maintenance view.

 

Specifically I was looking at PollingPlace and ReportingUnit - I'm sure there's more. 

 

This is quite a bit of xsd editing to fix up all that... : -(

 

Anyway - the reason I strayed into all this was to look for something that records status and results of balloting on election day itself.

 

I'm thinking we could add a structure of items <ResultsReported> to both pollingplace and reporting unit to track if results had been received, date/time of receipt, and status indicators and any associated notes/messages.

  <Status DateTime="00/00/0000:00.00.00Z" Type="Opened">

Then the 110 would contain the whole regional picture both before and after the election.
