Subject: RE: [election-services] [FWD: Microsoft offers free repository for agency data -- Government Computer News]
The fact that we are an open standards, vendor neutral etc etc organisation
then the answer is definitely No. We should not be seen to promote any particular
technology solution and as the article says at least one other vendor is
already offering a similar service. And with the rush towards Cloud computing and
Software as a Service there will be more and more of these types of facilities
on the market soon IMO. Of course unofficially in discussions etc we can always make
people aware of these types of facilities, no problems with that, it’s just the
public face we need to wear. John From: David RR Webber (XML)
