Subject: Re: [election-services] Clarification on EML 210 candidate
John, If you recall we went around this with the word "affiliation" as a best pick - so I'm comfortable with that. I was just inquiring of members here - of the sample values they are finding to use in Type. Otherwise I can simply add annotations of how we are seeing this looks in practice here in the USA - and if people want to ignore that and do something else - its an unconstrained element - so it would their own local practice. John -----Original Message----- From: David Webber [mailto:david.webber@oracle.com] Sent: 21 January 2011 17:59 To: Election-Services Subject: [election-services] Clarification on EML 210 candidate Within Affiliation we have Type - but again no annotation. Notice Affiliation occurs in two places - once where it is used in the sense of an endorsing organization, and then again under candidate - where it is for direct affiliations of the candidate themselves. So - it is important to understand what values Type may have in both scenarios. E.g. Union, Party, Member, Sponsor, and so on. Does anyone have a handy glossary text for this - otherwise we need to understand how people are using these so we can add text annotations.
