Subject: Cursor on Target use for describing EMS Points of Interest

The article
entitled "Wonderful World of Data" describes the use of USAF Cursor-on-Target
(CoT) by the Vancouver, WA / Clark County EMS District, to represent the
position of ambulances. I know that Kansas City, MO is doing something
similar for Fire and Police as well and I can put anyone interested to
learn more in touch with Troy Campbell who is their resident CoT expert. The CoT
event codes have been extended to describe EMS objects like Fire Truck, and
Police Cruiser (rather than just the original military
objects).
There is a public
domain KML/CoT gateway which makes it quite easy to stand up a Google Earth or
other KML capably displays (such as Falconview which is another popular public
domain visualization tool).
