Title: Meeting Notes/Minutes for Dec. 27, 2008

Hi Everyone,

I thought it was important to post Meeting Notes/Minutes of our meeting 27 December 2007, since we are preparing for a face-to-face meeting to finish the EDXL-RM Specification for its second 60-Day Public Review. This will include information about the Revision that is being prepared for the face-to-face. I'm including the minutes in the body of this message as well as posting it separately to the SC document repository.

As always, corrections, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Agenda:
 
 1 We briefly reviewed Section 1.3 to address the issue Rex brought up with regard to the use of the word 'segment' to refer to the specific messages because it sounds as if it is a technical term with some specific definition that could be expected to be found in the data dictionary. Rex suggested that the term 'unit' would be a suitable replacement, and Gary suggested the term 'part." We chose to replace 'segment' with 'part.'

 2 The editiorial changes recommended by Tim in Section 1.3 are included in the face-to-face revision, as well as the replacement of "Conditional" statements with "Provisional" statements recommended by Tim.

 3 The editorial changes recommended by Tim in Section 1.1 are not included in the face-to-face revision, so the file with Tim's recommendations (EDXL-RM-CD-v1.0-Revision-006-2TG) will need to be reviewed so that we can discuss and decide whether to include those recommendations in the final specification for the TC vote.

 4 We discussed the remaining and on-going division of tasks for the face to face and reviewed the assignments:

• Gary will review the Schemas and make recommendations. If these can be included in the revision for the face-to-face, Rex will do that. Gary will also review the Contact Information issues with regard to the import of the CIQ v.3.0 specification;
• Alessandro will review the geo-oasis solution developed for EDXL-HAVE and we will be ready to implement these measures on site in the face-to-face. Because not all of the SC worked on the EDXL-HAVE solution, we need to confirm this in the face-to-face.

 5 We discussed the issue of a Conformance Section, and Rex took the action item to compile a list of the Conformance Statements from the Specification and will share them with Alessandro so that they can develop a Conformance Section for the face to face that we can discuss on site, decide upon and include in the final revision of the specification for a TC vote on moving to a second 60-Day Public Review. this will be a separate document.
 6 For the purpose of readability and access, Rex will prepare and upload two versions of the revision for the face-to-face along with Tim's edit in a Zipped set:

• A clean version with all corrections accepted for readability (EDXL-RM-CD-v1.0-Revision-007-cln);
• The Document of Record (EDXL-RM-CD-v1.0-Revision-007) the complete "Redline" version necessary for the submission to OASIS that documents all changes resulting from the first 60-Day Public Review.;
• Tim's recommendations (EDXL-RM-CD-v1.0-Revision-006-2TG)

 7 Werner will have "Enterprise Architect" on his laptop for our use in the face-to-face in case we need to make changes to the diagrams and Tim will provide a laptop with the specification revision loaded and ready for final edits during the face-to-face.
