Is there a good opportunity to support integrating the Information Sharing Environment into the Emergency Management Domain using NIEM Adapters? Answer ? Yes. The consensus of the Reference Information Model (RIM) subcommittee was that the NIEM adapter concept and implementation is a good one and workable for us. The overall recommendation would be to EMTC that the development and inclusion of adapters be a regular part of our standards development and schema release process. 2. TOPIC: EDXL in Smart Devices Reachout ? Are there next steps for exploring the opportunity to ensure Smart Devices can natively speak EDXL? Answer: Yes. The individuals impacted in an emergency need an ability to communicate emergency information through their smart devices natively. A modified, agile version of EDXL might be one proposed outcome to address manufacturer?s needs. Elysa will arrange a reachout meeting with some key participants to advance the discussion.
