Subject: RE: GIS SC Notes from 8-29-07 teleconference: CAP and support for new Geometry types

GIS SC Teleconference

Carl Reed
Judith Woodhall
Alessandro Triglia
Rex Brooks

The teleconference focused on discussion of ideas about how best to move forward with proposals to enable CAP to support additional geometry types. Implementation experience has already provided some potential requirements for additional or enhanced geometry types. In order to clarify requirements and use cases, the group discussed the following approach:

Formal Documentation of Requirements - Ask the EM TC for input. Also can use the Members Section application. Look at the incident.com, NENA, ITU, EIC, OGC, and COMCARE communities for additional input.

Based on requirements, develop proposals for revisions to CAP to support additional optional geometries to allow development of profiles specific to given information communities.

Carl took action to write a short email to send to the various organizations in order to seek additional input.

Regards
