Apart from the issue of the scope of a product in the IRC view and the EMIX view. it seems that we are missing some other elements that may be important to this discussion and the clarity of our work products.

For example, we should be clear about two attributes of a product:  (1) the commodity to be exchanged and  (2) the source of the commodity.

The source of an electric commodity would be \ind, solar, coal, nuclear and so .  This is important in some bilateral interactions and some markets.  

The commodity would be electric energy, natural gas, steam etc. It seems our elements should include a commodity attribute.

A resource in EMIX is characterized by  ramp rates, run times, start up costs, min operating conditions and other characteristics.  A resource is not a source.  

In some interactions and markets, source, resource characteristics and commodity are important elements of the information model.

In some interactions and markets, source and commodity elements are important elements of the information model.

In some interactions and markets, the commodity element is the important element off the information model.
