Subject: Fwd: [energyinterop] EMIX Approved for Catalog of Standards

Congratulations to all of you, and thanks again for your contributions as experts and professionals bridging those gaps across computer science, process, grid needs and common sense to build something of real value for the industry and the world.  Your work completely fills the broad ambitions of the SGIP program for a vendor-neutral, implementable and extensible model and schema that's actually capable of all the cool stuff originally envisioned by the original SGIP plans and the White House;  it's great to see the SGIP community's confirmation of this.

This vote, and the recent earlier approval of WS-Calendar, vindicate many the hours invested -- towards both the technical work, and in continual outreach and negotiation with diverse and even sometimes fractious groups of stakeholders to realize the objectives of the SGIP conceptual plan.

Special thanks also to:
  -- Our hardworking TC leaders, Bill, Ed and Anne and principal spec editor Toby -- who, luckily for us, may not have foreseen in 2009 just how hardworking they'd need to be;
  -- The strong cooperative contributions, liaison and help that these projects have received from our partner organizations, including CalConnect, FixML, NAESB, the ISO/RTO Council and the UCAlug/Zigbee community;
  -- Tireless help from the under-appreciated NIST staff (Dave & Dave and others), who helped facilitate the work and overcome obstacles visible and invisible, and able assistance from the SGIP program team (including Stuart, Aaron & Marty);
  -- Extraordinary efforts from our own TC Administration team (Chet, Robin, Paul) to review and process iterations of the specs, moving a lot of pixels and angle brackets on accelerated schedules under tough conditions, to give this work priority and help bring it home.

A great way to start off the New Year.  Warm best wishes.  See you all soon.
