Subject: Consumers everywhere switching power without interruption?
Interesting and innovative
article on NY Times that looks at the potential of small customers
choosing the energy service provider without any interruption, a
technology and service provided by "Power2Switch." While price could be
the primary motivation, the choice of being able to pick energy source
(e.g. renewables) is also a compelling argument. This may become even
more significant when a common form such as RTP (retail or wholesale)
information is available. I am sending it to the Interop TC as it may have impact on what future looks like and how eMIX data for "energy products" may relate. http://www.nytimes.com/external/venturebeat/2009/08/14/14venturebeat-power2switch-lets-consumers-choose-their-ele-62417.html "Power2Switch, a young startup bringing the energy market to the web, may just be innovative enough to disrupt the way small businesses buy electricity. The company has launched a web portal that gives consumers more information on energy suppliers and empowers them to switch to a new vendor without any interruption in service." Thank you, -Rish --
