Subject: RE: [energyinterop] WSDL version question
The "final material" version of BP 2.0 is dated November
2010, WSDL 2.0 is a W3C recommendation since June
2007.
I think BP still uses the WSDL 1.1 because WSDL 2.0 has not
(at least, not yet) gained much adoption. Most tools only support
WSDL 1.1.

a question, was WS-I B 2.0 developed before or after 2.0? An request to use 1.1
could be a “don’t use that bug-ridden 1.0” or it could be “stay away from the
mistakes of 2.0” or it could be “use the one that is current as of this
pub date” As
a related note, the TAB in OASIS is examining specs to find cross-dependencies,
and considering a means for recommended updates as standards
advance. tc "It is the theory

On Behalf Of Pim van der Eijk Hello, Energy Interop wd 36
recommends conformance to WS-I Basic Profile 2.0. The WSDL version
supported by the WS-I BP 2.0 (and by 1.2) is WSDL 1.1.
The WSDL documents in
wd 36 use the http://www.w3.org/ns/wsdl namespace
which is the namespace of version 2.0 of WSDL rather than the WSDL 1.1
namespace, http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/.
Would it not make
sense to deliver WSDLs in the interoperable version covered by the WS-I profile
that the EI specification references? Pim |
