Subject: Re: [etmf] Those attending DIA conference

Thanks Chet,  we will get the email for comments and URL/package corrected today.  Thanks for reviewing the work and catching those errors.

Hi Jennifer & all -

I am concerned about you promoting the working draft copy in Kavi of the eTMF spec. This working draft is not in our official template and candidly has some errors. I am concerned that by promoting this at the conference you are setting the stage for confusion once I announce the public review and people see a document that, on its surface, looks very different. Also, I am sure that you will get people trying to comment on this document and they shouldn't do that.

Also, the release notes you prepared incorrectly direct people to send comments to etmf@lists.oasis-open.org. That email address is only for TC members and non-members may not send email - Kavi will reject them. Non-TC members submit their comments to etmf-comment@lists.oasis-open.org. That is the *only* channel through which the TC may accept feedback because it is the only channel that ensures you are receiving the comments subject to the same IPR conditions that the TC operates under. The proper steps are to direct people to https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=etmf for instructions on how to subscribe to the comment list and then send feedback to it.

I realize that you are all anxious to get the draft out there and start gathering feedback. I'm anxious for you as well and that's why we are at work on the Committee Spec Draft and Public Review Drafts published now. And I certainly want you to promote it and circulate it. I'm just concerned that showing the world the internal Kavi copy as the first glimpse is going to do more damage to the TC than good.

When the public review draft is published, it will be available at

http://docs.oasis-open.org/etmf/etmf-model/v1.0/csprd01/etmf-model-v1.0-csprd01.pdf (Authoritative)
http://docs.oasis-open.org/etmf/etmf-model/v1.0/csprd01/etmf-model-v1.0-csprd01.html
http://docs.oasis-open.org/etmf/etmf-model/v1.0/csprd01/etmf-model-v1.0-csprd01.doc

Those - or one of those - are the URLs to promote. Those will be the official OASIS versions of the document.

Thanks for your understanding,

/chet

All,

Kudos to each and every one of you for the yeomans job our TC has done these past six months, culminating today in the first Public Review Draft!  (Rest now, as there’s plenty more to do later!)

I want to thank Zack/SureClinical for supporting production of a two sided promo card that I will be bringing to DIA to promote participation in the standard.  One side of the card targets tech savvy professionals, the other targets clinical trials professionals.

I will be at the DIA conference on 6/17 (Tues) and would be happy to drop by cards for any of you who have a booth or wish to distribute them.  If you would like a large supply (more than 100), feel free to use the attached template to have additional cards produced.  The more we can do to engage the broad industry in providing feedback on the draft, the better!

If you’re wondering about the URL link, it is a ‘tiny URL’ which is far shorter than the real one and directly links the user to the Oasis site with the Spec package.  We will also be able to track how many people actually go to the site as a result of the URL.

I have notified Carol Geyer of Oasis that we plan on using this card, and have not yet heard back yet but expect she’ll be pleased with this approach.

ACTION:  Reply to this email and include your cell # if you want a supply from me on 6/17.

Best,
